Stuart Kwaterski
Educator
Hello!
My name is Stuart Kwaterski and welcome to my professional educator website. I am from Green Bay, Wisconsin where I grew up as the youngest of three children. My mother has been very influential in my life, she worked at my K-8 school and created a positive stigma toward education in my life at an early age. My father graduated college with an engineering degree but managed to have work experience in engineering, sales, and human resources. He has owned rental units for over 25 years and is able to overcome many problem solving obstacles in his life. My dad is a jack of all trades and my mom has been apart of the education system since I was five but the most important gift they have given me has been my upbringing in the Catholic faith. I have participated in Catholic schooling from preschool all the way through college. I have found that Catholic schooling has provided with me with extra-ordinary opportunities to develop my whole person. Whether it was academically, socially, emotionally, athletically or other extra curricular, I was able to develop the moral convictions that I use everyday.
Why do I want to become a teacher?
When asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" There was a lot of unnecessary pressure that came in answering that. When I look back at my educational career, there are a handful of teachers that pop into my mind immediately. I do not remember the exact lessons, I do not remember the exact words they used, but I will always remember how they made me feel. A teacher is able to control the atmosphere in which learning takes place, that in itself is the most powerful tool in teaching. I know it is my vocation to become a teacher because I want to help people and teach them to improve their intelligence but I also want to teach them about life and how to improve their life. The best teacher I've ever had would openly admit that he is not the smartest person in the room but rather the most experienced person in the room that will go above and beyond to share his experience. Teaching is a dynamic career that is constantly changing. I am a dynamic person that loves to collaborate with other people in order to achieve a common goal. Teaching is not a profession but rather a lifestyle. "Iron Sharpens Iron as one man sharpens another."
